Pre-K

We know how important a smooth transition from Preschool to Kindergarten is. We also know how precious and fleeting the carefree days of childhood are. We try to balance our program so that both preparation and preservation of youthful bliss can be honored.

Our program focuses on :

• Personal and Social Development
• Pre-writing and Pre-reading activities
• Letter Knowledge and Early Word Recognition
• Scientific Exploration and Experiments
• Physical and Motor Development
• Numbers and Mathematical Ideas

We strive to align our Pre-K curriculum to Virginia’s Kindergarten Standards of Learning (SOL) and to Virginia’s Phonological Awareness Literacy Screening (PALS) , but in a nurturing, warm and inviting environment where learning is fun and personal achievement is paramount.

We also understand that every child is different. Our program extends to age 6, to offer the “gift of time” to those children who aren’t quite ready for Kindergarten at age 5.
